Comments/Special Instructions |
Widely used, multi-dimensional self-report instrument for the evaluation of male sexual function
|
Scoring and Psychometric Properties |
Scoring: The IIEF-5 is comprised of 5 questions that are scored from 0-5.
Psychometric Properties: The instrument is both highly sensitive and specific to the effects of treatment in male patients with ED. Collectively, validation studies have demonstrated strong evidence of the overall validity and reliability of the IIEF.
|
Rationale/Justification |
Strengths: Comprehensive, validated in different cohorts with sexual dysfunction, and is the "gold standard" assessment for male sexual dysfunction.
Weaknesses: Not been validated in PD. However, has been used in PD studies, including a large multicentric study (Raciti et al., 2020).
